Hewitts Home Renovations repairs glass and double glazing across Hitchin, Ickleford, Pirton, Offley, St Ippolyts and the surrounding area. Being based near Huntingdon, roughly 40 minutes away, we can usually measure quickly and fit replacement units within a week.
The most common call we get from Hitchin is misted double glazing: condensation trapped between the panes that no amount of cleaning will shift. The sealed unit has failed but the frame is fine, so we simply replace the glass unit. We also replace cracked or broken glass, upgrade to energy-efficient or acoustic glass, and fit toughened or obscure glass to doors and bathrooms.
Alongside glass, we repair the moving parts of windows and doors: hinges, handles, locks, cylinders, gaskets and seals. A repair is usually a fraction of the cost of a new window and we will always tell you honestly whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
