Contemporary aluminium windows with ultra-slim frames, huge glass areas and a powder-coated finish that lasts for decades.
Aluminium windows have moved from commercial buildings into the home, and for good reason. The strength of aluminium allows frames far slimmer than uPVC, so you get more glass, more light and a cleaner, more architectural look. Hewitts Home Renovations supplies and fits thermally broken aluminium windows across our five counties.
Modern aluminium windows use a polyamide thermal break between the inner and outer frame, so the cold-bridging problems of old aluminium windows are gone. Combined with A-rated double or triple glazing they perform as well as any uPVC window while looking considerably sharper.
Frames are powder-coated in any RAL colour, with anthracite grey, black and white the most popular. The finish is highly resistant to scratching, fading and corrosion and never needs painting. Styles include casement, tilt and turn, fixed picture windows, bay and corner windows, and we can match them to aluminium bifold or sliding doors.
Aluminium suits modern homes, extensions and renovations, but also works beautifully on Victorian and 1930s houses where dark slim frames echo the original steel or timber windows. Every installation is covered by our 10-year guarantee.

Not any more. Modern aluminium windows have a thermal break separating the inside and outside of the frame, and with A-rated glazing they perform as well as uPVC. The old reputation comes from single-glazed 1970s aluminium windows without a thermal break.
Choose aluminium for the slimmest frames, the largest glass areas, dark colours that stay looking sharp and a contemporary look. Choose uPVC for the best value and the widest range of traditional styles. Both are A-rated and both carry our 10-year guarantee.
