A-rated double glazed windows and doors from a local company, not a national chain. Honest prices, no pressure and a 10-year guarantee.
Hewitts Home Renovations is a family-run double glazing company based in Brampton, Huntingdon. We supply and fit A-rated uPVC and aluminium double glazed windows and doors across Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, and we repair existing double glazing when replacement is not needed.
If you have had a national double glazing company round, you will know the routine: a three-hour presentation, an eye-watering price and a huge discount if you sign tonight. We do not work like that. Jamie visits your home, measures up, shows you samples, and sends a written quote you can think about in your own time. The price is the price.
Modern double glazing is a big step up from units fitted in the 1980s and 90s. Today's A-rated windows use low-emissivity glass, argon gas between the panes and warm-edge spacer bars, which together roughly halve the heat loss of early double glazing and dramatically reduce condensation and noise. For the coldest rooms or busiest roads we can also fit triple glazing.
As well as full replacements we replace individual misted or broken sealed units, repair hinges, handles and locks and upgrade glass in existing frames. Every installation is FENSA-compliant with building regulations certification and covered by a 10-year guarantee.

Fitted A-rated uPVC double glazed windows usually cost £350 to £750 each, and a typical three-bedroom semi with eight to ten windows comes in at £4,000 to £7,000. Aluminium is around 50 to 70 per cent more. We quote a fixed price after a free home visit.
Signs include condensation between the panes, draughts around the frame, windows that are hard to open or lock, discoloured or brittle frames, and rooms that feel cold near the window. Misting alone can be fixed by replacing the glass unit; the other signs usually point to a replacement.
Yes. Misting means the sealed unit has failed, but the frame is usually fine. We measure and fit a new A-rated sealed unit into your existing frame, typically from around £90 per unit.
For most homes in our area, A-rated double glazing is the best value. Triple glazing is worth considering for north-facing rooms, bedrooms on busy roads or if you want the very lowest heat loss. We will quote for both if you are unsure.
We keep our prices honest from the start rather than inflating them and offering discounts. If you need to spread the cost, talk to Jamie and we will see what we can arrange.
