Hewitts Home Renovations supplies and installs the full range of external doors for homes across Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire. Whether you need a new composite front door, a secure uPVC back door, French doors onto the patio or a wall of aluminium bifolds, we measure, supply and fit it ourselves.
Choosing a door is about more than looks. The right door should keep your home warm, keep intruders out, stand up to the British weather without constant maintenance and suit the age and style of the property. We will talk you through the differences between composite, uPVC and aluminium, show you samples at your home and recommend what genuinely makes sense for you and your budget.
Every door we fit comes with a multipoint locking system, a Secured by Design approved anti-snap cylinder, energy-efficient glazing where applicable and a 10-year guarantee. Because we are a small local business based in Brampton, Huntingdon, the person who quotes your job is the same person responsible for making sure it is finished properly.
We also repair doors. Dropped hinges, stiff locks, broken handles, draughty seals and misted glass can usually be fixed for far less than a replacement, and we will always tell you honestly which option is right.

We fit composite front doors, uPVC front and back doors, stable doors, French doors, uPVC and aluminium bifold doors, sliding patio doors and heritage-style doors for period properties. All are made to measure for your opening.
Composite is the best all-rounder for front doors: strong, well insulated and colour-stable. uPVC is the most affordable and ideal for back and side doors. Aluminium gives the slimmest frames and largest glass areas, so it is the usual choice for bifold and patio doors.
A fitted uPVC back door starts around £700. Composite front doors are usually £1,100 to £2,200. French doors start around £1,400 and aluminium bifolds from around £3,000. We give a fixed written price after a free home visit.
Most single doors are fitted in half a day. French doors take around a day. Bifolds and patio doors take one to two days depending on whether structural work is needed. Doors are usually manufactured two to four weeks after you order.
